If the Firm agrees to take on your case and represent you, Maryland ethics rules require that the terms of the lawyer-client relationship be set forth in writing. Accordingly, if the Firm agrees to represent you, you will be sent a written retainer agreement setting for the terms of the Firm’s representation of you.  The retainer agreement is like any other contract in that is sets forth the parties respective rights and responsibilities so as to seek to avoid disputes or disagreements regarding both the client’s and the lawyer’s rights and responsibilities.
